BRM Projects - Scholarships for monks

Buddhist Relief Mission grants assistance to young foreign monks, particularly Khmer, who are furthering their Buddhist studies in Sri Lanka.

The Mark Decker Scholarship Fund was established in 1996 in honor of Visakha's brother. This scholarship, funded by Buddhist Relief Mission and administered by Young Buddhist Student Literacy Mission, offers assistance to monks studying at universities in India. Grants are given to about 15 monks each year, mainly in Nalanda and Varanasi.

The photograph shows the ruins of the ancient monastery and Buddhist university at Nalanda.
